Sr DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities: This role develops, creates, and modifies processes to ensure accurate software deployment and release management. An incumbent analyzes complex enterprise applications with many components and replicates the build and deployment processes both in cloud and local contexts.

- Help define and develop tools that enable product teams to support the business
- Migrate existing applications to new environments
- Provide support to the existing configuration management environment
- Develop solutions in alignment with departmental goals, SLAs for availability, scalability, and resiliency
- Develop and advocate for best practices, standards, and processes
- Work with teams to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement in the deployment and build processes
- Lead improvement of technical processes across Platform engineering and Operations teams to improve delivery and availability for platforms
- Support security management. Maintain user accounts and profiles. Prepare for and support emergency events
- Keep systems running at peak performance, upgrade operating system, patches, and version upgrades using automation
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Software Developers, QA, and Infrastructure Engineering teams to deliver on time and within budget
- Lead other product teams and developers through design and implementation decisions to achieve balance between strategic design and tactical needs
- Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment, security, and high availability in the cloud

Required:

- BA/BS degree with an analytical discipline or 3+ years of experience directly related to professional software development
- Strong analytical ability to perform full range of infrastructure and development operations tasks utilizing state of the art concepts, techniques, and languages
- Strong quality assurance mindset and competency so that build scripts and associated deployments are validated with low defect rates
- Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology
- Knowledge of business management concepts, techniques, and functions
- Knowledge of project management techniques and ability to lead small to medium sized projects or development efforts
- Ability to accurately estimate deliverables requirements into development hours
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and instructional manuals
- Ability to write reports and other varied business correspondence and present information effectively both written and oral
- Strong leadership capabilities, self-motivated, pleasantly aggressive, and realistically ambitious with high personal ethics
- Must be able to work independently as well as a member of a team, as well as work with confidential material and information
- Expert knowledge of systems analysis/design, computer programming and job control languages
